I speak the language of markets, government, and people. For most of the past 20 years, my work has concentrated in public sector, nonprofit, and high-tech industries. Whether as an entrepreneur, consultant, or employee, much of my work has sought to help build campaigns, products, and organizations that solve a diverse range of public-interest issues. In earlier roles, I worked in traditional high-tech marketing and product development.
Currently, I work with Kidango where I oversee the Communications and Development departments for one of California’s largest child development agencies.
Over the years, I developed business, marketing, research, and writing skills at Fortune 1000, start-up, and non-profit organizations. My work has included roles at Autodesk, Autodesk Foundation, Charitableway, Freshwater Software (acquired by Mercury Interactive), Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP), and others. In subsequent years, my political radar was honed as the executive director of one of California’s fastest growing advocacy organizations, supporting policies and candidates that foster entrepreneurship and innovation in California. In addition, I serve as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, with a background emphasizing maritime intelligence, incident/disaster management, and joint defense operations.
I earned an undergraduate in business administration, international business, and public administration at Golden Gate University, and have since also studied inter-agency strategic planning at the Joint Staff College. In my "spare" time, I’m an avid traveler, photographer, sailor, equestrian, skier, and a wannabe gourmet cook. And yes, it’s true, I’ve been known to have an annual pass to Disneyland. I’m a proud 6th generation Californian, where my wife, Heather, and I live in Silicon Valley.
